"Substitute Ffor Love" - work in progress

This was a 2018 Mermay digital illustration, inspired by an anime/mangá called "Petshop Of Horrors", it's second episode, "Delicious". Its about a mermaid that takes the shape of a bride and get bought by the husband. Evangeline commited suicide on her wedding day (in a ship), throwing herself on the ocean after she finds out she was being cheated by the love of her life. It's magical.
I wrote a little poem for this drawing, but it doesn't fits here entirely for me to post. I made this drawing cause I adore the idea of merpeople having a connection with the spiritual world. This illustration is about a corpse bride riding in the ocean in the arms of a merman, who sings to her to calm and bring peace to her soul full of sorrow.
